DIMAPUR — The 25th silver jubilee MBE Zhuikhu Memorial Trophy Gold Cup, organised by the Western Sumi Sports Association (WSSA), will be held from Feb. 22 to the 29th on the theme ‘Blow the victory trumpet’ in Niuland town.
In a press release, the WSSA informed that the Minister of PHED and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, will be the special guest and the Advisor of Industries and Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu, the guest of honour.
The special guest of the Under-16 category will be the state president of BJP Nagaland, Benjamin Yepthomi and the special guest of the Extravaganza Night will be the president of NSCN/GPRN (Akato), Akato Chophy.
The tournament’s match patrons include Ahoto Zhimomi, Akukatou of Nihokhu village, for volleyball (men and women); Kuhoi Zhimo, former DMC member, for the football semi-final; and Kiyevi I Swu, ADS, Dimapur, for badminton (men and women).
In the Western Sumi area, a total of 33 teams are going to participate in this jubilee tournament, it stated.
