DIMAPUR — Leaders cutting across political affiliations have mourned the demise of former advisor of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Evaluation, Economics and Statistics from 57 Thonoknyu Assembly Constituency, L Khumo, who passed away in Dimapur on Tuesday after a brief illness.
Khumo was a member of the 12th and 13th houses of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA).
Sharingain Longkumer, the Speaker of the NLA, said in a condolence note that Khumo’s unwavering commitment to his community and the state, as well as his dedication to public service, would be remembered with great respect and on behalf of the members of the 14th House, he conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members.
Minister of PHED and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, also extended his condolences to the bereaved family members, friends, supporters and near and dear ones of L Khumo.
In a note, Jacob mentioned that Khumo was a leader rooted in humility who had made a mark for himself in public service with his graceful personality.
Stating that his demise leaves behind a huge void to fill, the minister prayed for his soul to rest in God’s everlasting arms.
The Advisor of Youth Resources and Sports, S Keoshu Yimkhiung, lamented the loss of ‘a best colleague’ and added that the vacuum created by his passing away would be hard to fill. Keoshu has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the peace of the departed soul.
The president of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) Nagaland unit, S Richard Humtsoe, said that Khumo contested last in the 14th NLA election on the Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) ticket and was a productive contributor to the Naga people’s welfare. He has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for peace for the departed soul.
