Sao Chang College conducts session on value-added courses
DIMAPUR — The departments of Botany, Zoology, and Mathematics of Sao Chang College, Tuensang, conducted a programme for second semester students under the NEP 2020 syllabus on value-added courses, with Dr. R. Vasanthan, associate professor, Nagaland University, as the resource person.
According to an update, speaking on the occasion, Vasanthan educated the students on teamwork, the concept of teamwork, the characteristics of effective teams, trust, communication, collaboration, and navigating team development on specific challenges, problem analysis, critical thinking in problem solving, and leadership quality.
He emphasised the importance of distinguishing emotional intelligence from interpersonal skills such as decision making, resilience, and leadership. He also discussed adaptability in the workplace and introduced the students to neuroplasticity, which is the brain’s ability to change and adapt in a dynamic environment.
The programme was chaired by Ciekrovoto Theluo, assistant professor, department of Mathematics, and attended by 141 second semester students as well as eight teaching faculty.
