DIMAPUR — District Health Society (DHS), Mon organised a free cataract surgery with intraocuiar lens (IOL) implantation eye camp, sponsored by National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment (NPCB and VI), Nagaland from February 12 to the 17th at District Hospital (DH) Mon.
A team of specialised eye doctors led by Dr. Phyantsuthung, consultant eye specialist at DH Wokha and Dr. Wobenthung Tsopoe, eye specialist at Hezukhu Memorial DH Zunheboto, made the camp effective by covering 56 major cases and one case with a total 299 OPD registration, an update stated.
The team also consisted of Medemnochetla, staff nurse at IMDH Mokokchung; Limasenla, ANM, IMDH Mokokchung; Limasungzung, ophthalmic assistant, DH Mon; NgapsaT Konyak, ophthalmic assistant, Mon.
After one month, postoperative follow-ups will be done by ophthalmic assistants of the respective health units, it added.
