Nagaland storm into Col. CK Nayudu Trophy final

DIMAPUR — Nagaland displayed an all-round performance to beat Arunachal Pradesh by 148 runs in the semi-final of the Col. C K Nayudu Trophy (Men’s U23) Plate group and stormed into the finals to be played at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima, against Meghalaya starting February 18.

Batting first after winning the toss at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Anand, Nagaland posted 171 runs in the first inning, with Afzal top-scoring with an unbeaten 81. In reply, Arunachal took a 48 run lead, scoring 219 runs, aided by a 69 from Prince Yadav and 63 by Amarjeet Sharma, according to an update.

Nagaland turned the game on its head in the second inning, putting on a mammoth 290 runs. Hem hammered 139 while Tohuka made 77 as they set an imposing 242 run target.

Arunachal succumbed to the pressure and were bundled out for just 94 runs, with Neizekho grabbing a 5-wicket haul for Nagaland.
