DIMAPUR — In a remarkable display of talent and cultural prowess, 25 students from all four campuses of Nagaland University (NU), participated in the 37th UNIFEST, ‘Karmotsav 2.0’ North East Zone held at Royal Global University, Guwahati, from February 6 to the 10th.
The university clinched several positions across diverse categories, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and artistic flair of its students, an update from PRO, NU, stated.
Dr. Imlitoshi Jamir, from the School of Engineering and Technology (SET), was the contingent incharge, leading the Nagaland University team to success. The event witnessed a competitive spirit among various universities in the region, and Nagaland University emerged with flying colours in multiple categories.
The notable achievements include second position in western group song, third position in folk dance, fourth place in cultural procession, fifth place in western solo and fifth position in poster making.
Dean of student welfare, Prof. Wangshimenla, expressed pride in the students’ accomplishments and highlighted the dedication and hard work put in by the participants. She commended their commitment to upholding the cultural values and traditions of Nagaland University.
Vice-Chancellor of NU Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, Registrar Dr. Abemo, and other university officials extended their congratulations to the entire team for their outstanding performance.
“Their success not only brings honor to Nagaland University but also reflects the talent and dedication of the students in representing the institution at a regional level.
“The university remains committed to fostering a holistic environment that nurtures both academic and extracurricular excellence. Events like UNIFEST KARMOTSAV 2.0 provide a platform for students to showcase their talents and create lasting memories of camaraderie and cultural exchange,” the update stated.
