Model Christian College organises faculty development programme
DIMAPUR — Model Christian College, Kohima, organised a one-day faculty development programme on February 3 at the college auditorium, with Prof. Glenn T Thong, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, and Dr. Sandip Ratna, Assoc. Prof. of State College of Teacher Education, Kohima, as the resource persons.
The programme was divided into three sessions and the topics included ‘Role of educator/ teacher in the context of NEP 2020,’ ‘Research, project and funding,’ and ‘Tutorial: concept and practice,’ an update informed.
Prof. Thong, who spoke on the ‘Role of educator/teacher in the context of NEP 2020,’ stressed on the importance of teachers to be well equipped and informed to act as educators and mentors.
He also encouraged the teachers to pursue research studies which will benefit the individual, college and society as a whole.
Dr. Ratna said that with the implementation of NEP 2020, tutorial is now an integral part of the curriculum and went on to explain the concept and practice of tutorial. He also emphasised that teachers should play the role of a doctor in diagnosing, prescribing and evaluating the problems and abilities of the students.
The programme was moderated by Sentinaro Lemtur, Asst. Professor Department of Geography, and vote of thanks proposed by the IQAC coordinator Dr. Akano Yhokha.
