DIMAPUR — A Banana Farm School was inaugurated on Thursday at K Station, Tseminyu, by Ruovilhou Tseibu Rulho, district agriculture officer, who was also the resource person for the event.
According to an update, speaking on the occasion, Rulho explained the concept of a farm school and how it can benefit progressive and marginal farmers by serving as a platform for sharing scientific and indigenous technical knowledge.
The farmers received a briefing on the nutritional significance of bananas and their demand in both domestic and international markets. They were encouraged to adopt organic farming practices.
On the occasion, the farmers were also given tricoderma, neem seed cake, and poly sheets to cover banana bunches. The programme drew a total of 21 farmers.
