Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra conducted in Kohima

KOHIMA — The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) organised a Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra for Kohima (urban) on Monday at the Old NST in Kohima and later at the Indoor Stadium Officers Hill in Kohima.

T Lanusenla Longkumer, Administrator of the KMC, led the programme at the Old NST and encouraged participants in her speech to take advantage of the various schemes.

She also informed the participants that similar programmes are being carried out in various locations, both rural and urban, to reach the unreached in order to make India a developed and self-reliant nation by 2047.

A recorded message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with other videos, were screened during the programme.

On the occasion, the participants took the Vikshit Bharat Sankalp pledge, in which they pledged to make India a developed and self-reliant nation by 2047; to remove any trace of colonial mindset; to celebrate its heritage; to strengthen unity and respect those who protect the country; and to perform the duties of a citizen.

Rokovituo Angami, a beneficiary of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs; Kamma Terhase, a beneficiary of PM SVANidhi; and Khasineinuo, a beneficiary of Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), shared their testimonies.

Registration for schemes and services such as Ayushman Bharat, Aadhar mobile number and biometric update, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) was conducted on the spot in addition to providing free health check-ups.
