DIMAPUR — To promote people’s participation in the Hornbill Festival and also to promote the festival on social media platforms, the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) organised a Vlog competition as part of the Hornbill Festival 2023.

The results of the competition were declared at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, on Sunday where the additional director of IPR, Kevizayieno, gave away the prizes to the winners.

In the competition, Atse Quinker emerged as the winner of the Vlog competition, while Chumlano Ngullie and Soshila won the second and third positions respectively. The winners were awarded certificates and cash of INR 10,000, INR 8,000 and INR 5,000.

Speaking at the programme, the joint director of IPR, Asangla Imsong, stressed the relevance of Vlogs in this present era as they offer a personal and dynamic way for individuals to share experiences and perspectives. She added that with the rise of platforms like YouTube and social media, Vlogs now serve as a powerful medium for content creators to connect with audiences globally by providing diverse content on a wide range of topics.

The Vlog competition was organised on the theme “Feathers of Hornbill Festival” over the 10-day period where participants shared short videos shot during the Hornbill Festival 2023.

The department of Information and Public Relations expressed hope that the renowned Hornbill Festival would reach out to more people through the Vlog competition and also help see the festival from a visitor’s perspective and share their experiences.
