Elite CC lift KDCA inter-club T20 Tournament

KOHIMA — Elite Cricket Club on Monday emerged champions of the Kohima District Cricket Association (KDCA) inter-club T20 Tournament defeating Missionshire Cricket Club by 109 runs in the final held at NCA Cricket Stadium, Sovima.

Elite CC won the toss and elected to bat first, amassing a score of 156/9 in 20 overs. Zipa Pohena scored 42 runs and Imomemba scored 40 runs for Elite CC

Sahidul Alam took three wickets and Aktar Khan took two wickets for Missionshire CC.

In return, Elite bowlers bowled out Missionshire for just 47/10 in 13 overs. Kevilelie Khesoh top scored with 16 runs.

For Elite, Vikato scalped four wickets and his teammates Sepichem and Kelhousilie took 3 wickets each. Man of the match went to Vikato.

In the individual award categories, player of the tournament was awarded to Moin Uddin of Missionshire CC, best batsman went to Imomemba Walling of Elite CC, best bowler to Sepichem Jingru of Elite CC and best wicketkeeper to Razoulhoulie Sote of Pfuchatsumia Eagles.

The KDCA inter-club T20 tournament 2023, which started on Nov. 21 at Jakhama village ground, witnessed eight teams including Elite Cricket Club, Missionshire Cricket Club, Pfuchatsumia Eagles, Brotherhood Team, Tsütuonuomia Knights, Lhisemia Thinuo, Dapfhütsumia Cricket Club and Kohima Hornbills.

The tournament was played on knockout basis with the quarterfinals and semifinals played at Jakhama village ground and the final at NCA cricket stadium, Sovima.

A three-day coaching camp for sub-junior boys and girls was also conducted during the course of the tournament. A total of six girls and three boys attended the camp. Coaches Keviselhou Sekhose and Vikato conducted the coaching camp.
