DIMAPUR — Müluori Küchienyiri Kügharü (MKK), in collaboration with the district administration and Police department, conducted an awareness programme on road safety and the Motor Vehicle Act in the office of the additional deputy commissioner (ADC) in Meluri town under Phek district on Tuesday.
A DIPR report stated that the sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) of Meluri, Peter Shuya, spoke on ‘Traffic etiquettes and Motor Vehicle Act.’ He underlined the significance of traffic rules, road safety and proper parking regulations.
Shuya further emphasised that a comprehensive understanding of driving rules is essential for everyone to minimise the risk of accidents.
Report stated that Sakuchingmak, extra assistant commissioner (EAC) of Meluri, delivered the keynote address.
The programme saw active participation from MKK members, police personnel, ward chairmen of Meluri town and representatives from the administrative department.
Chaired by Chitsiarho Po, president of MKK, the event provided a platform for the community to engage with the critical aspects of road safety and compliance with the Motor Vehicle Act.
It further stated that the collaborative effort between MKK, administration and Police department was aimed at enhancing awareness and promoting responsible behavior on the roads.
