Tribal stalls and cuisine competitions held at Nagaland University
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland University (headquarters), Lumami, hosted a Tribal Stalls and Cuisines Showcase competition under the aegis of Bharat Bhasha Utsav 2023, directed by the Ministry of Education, with the goal of celebrating and promoting indigenous cultures.
According to a press release, the contest, held on November 16, drew academic luminaries, administrative heads, and members, and the inaugural ceremony was attended by vice chancellor Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, who applauded the participants on the occasion for their efforts in preserving and celebrating the country’s diverse tribal heritage.
The judging panel comprised of Prof. Wangshimenla, dean of student welfare, and Angunuo Khieya, deputy registrar of finance. The competition winners were awarded by finance officer N Albert Khizho as a gesture of appreciation for the outstanding exhibits.
According to the release, the event featured a display of craftsmanship and cultural expression, served as a platform for cultural exchange, and highlighted the importance of preserving and cherishing India’s tribal communities’ unique traditions and cuisines.
