Mokokchung, November 28

Thirty-six Mixed Martial Artists (MMA) from all over India has arrived at Mokokchung for the Yoddha Fighting Championship. The Yoddha Fighting Championship, which was earlier scheduled on November 27 & 28, was postponed to November 30-December 1, as the official circular cage from Mumbai failed to reach Mokokchung on the scheduled date due to transportation problem.
The 750 square foot circular cage measuring 30 feet across and 6 feet high, created both for safety and fairness, comes equipped with padded walls and surfaces to protect fighters from falling out (or getting thrown out).
The enthusiasm is immense. Hamavi Aye, a national MMA fighter, said that he is looking forward to the Mokokchung audience. “I have heard that Mokokchung people come up to any kind of sports, and I am looking forward to it,” said Hemavi Aye, a trainer and a national MMA fighter, while expressing his views about the upcoming championship at Mokokchung.
The MFC, while expressing deep regret for the postponement of the great event, acknowledged the MMA enthusiasts for their understanding and enthusiasm towards the great fighting championship.
The official circular cage has arrived in Mokokchung today. The dates have been set on November 30 and Dec 1. The fighters, both national and local fighters, are training hard at the 31st Assam Rifles gym, for the big fight.
Meanwhile, the MFC has acknowledged the Yoddha FC Mumbai for transporting the circular cage all from Mumbai, the MMA participants from Nagaland and all over Nagaland.
The MFU also acknowledged the 31 Assam Rifles for their logistical support, especially for allotting the “Pardishan Hall & Gym” for the Yoddha FC participants to practice.
