DIMAPUR — The deputy commissioner of Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, called upon the residents of Noksen area to work together in the fight against drug menace and make the villages drug-free, saying it would be a blessing for the area and the villages.
Rutsa stated this during a joint meeting of the Noksen, Yangpi and Longra village councils along with nursing mothers from neighbouring villages of Noksen headquarters held at the conference hall of the DBs’ court in Noksen on Thursday.
The DC was accompanied by the superintendent of police, Tuensang, Kanchan Kumar Kandpal, stated a DIPR report.
Speaking in the meeting, Rutsa highlighted the concept of creating a ‘District Hub for Empowering Women (DHEW).’ She also emphasised the importance of eradicating the drug menace in the villages and encouraged the citizens to work together to establish drug-free villages.
Also speaking in the meeting, Kandpal shared insights about the ongoing fight against drug-related issues in the state. He called upon the citizens to assist the administration in tracking down drug peddlers, emphasising that a collaborative approach is necessary to control the menace effectively.
As part of the mission ‘Shakti,’ the department of Health and Family Welfare of Tuensang division along with the deputy commissioner engaged in various activities. The activities included felicitation of girl children and conducting spot registrations for the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). Besides, training for Anganwadi and ASHA workers were organised to enhance their skills and knowledge.
