CANSSEA participates in Delhi rally seeking NPS rollback, other demands
Representatives of different organisations participate in the rally organised by AISGEF in New Delhi on November 2.

DIMAPUR — A delegation from the Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees Association (CANSSEA) participated in a rally organised by the All India State Government Employees Federation (AISGEF) in New Delhi on November 2, making several demands, including the repeal of the National Pension System (NPS).

According to a press release, the executive team of CANSSEA, led by its president, Dr. Ilang, participated in the one-day all-state deliberation platform at Ramlila Maidan and agreed on a seven-point charter of demands.

The demands included the repeal of the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) Act, the elimination of NPS, the regularisation of all contractual, outsourced, and daily waged employees, including health, education, and postal gramin dak sevaks, and the urgent filling of all vacancies in central and state government departments and public sector undertakings (PSUs).

It also included demands to stop the privatisation or corporation of PSUs and downsizing of government departments, ensure democratic trade union rights, review the de-recognition orders of the National Federation of Postal Employees (NFPE), All India Postal Employees Union (AIPEU)-class III, and ISRO Staff Association, abandon the National Education Programme, constitute the VIII Central Pay Commission, release pending dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DF), release confiscated DA/DR arrears for eighteen months, and remove all riders and restrictions on the compassionate employment scheme.

In the meeting, it was decided to continue the struggle on a wider platform by building unity with other organisations.

It alleged that in order to achieve its goal of dismantling organisations, the government is employing all of its available weapons, including a campaign to divide the working class in order to protect its anti-worker and anti-people policies.

In this regard, the president of CANSSEA reiterated the association’s full support and cooperation with the All India State Government Employees’ Federation (AISGEF), the Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers (CCGEW), the School Teachers’ Federation of India (STFI), and the National Coordination Committee of Pensioners Associations (NCCPA).
