Wokha district organises football coaching for youth
DIMAPUR — Under the initiative of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Nagaland, in collaboration with Nagaland Sports’ Association (NSA), office of the deputy commissioner and district election officer of Wokha, organised a two-day free football coaching camp and exhibition match on October 30 and 31 at DBHSS football ground in Wokha town.
The event was organized as a part of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities in creating awareness among young students for new registration in the electoral roll. The camp was conducted by a five-member team including AIFF certified coaches, informed an update from the district administration.
Altogether, 56 students including 48 boys and 8 girls from various school and colleges participated in the camp.
Speaking during the camp, NuhutaTunyi, SDO (C) of Wokha and nodal officer of SVEEP, encouraged the young students in electoral participation by enrolling themselves in the electoral rolls and practice clean election through informed and ethical voting. It added that help desk on voter registration was provided at the venue to assist the young youth for new registration.
An exhibition match was played among the participants by forming four teams. The winners of the match were awarded with jerseys from the coaches.
