CYO sports meet: Vidima women lift volleyball title

DIMAPUR — Vidima women’s volleyball team emerged champions in the women’s volleyball tournament at the ongoing 52nd Sports Meet 2023of Chakhroma Youth Organisation (CYO), held at Chümoukedima local ground on Thursday.

The Vidima team clinched the title by defeating Tsiepama team in three straight sets 25-16, 25-18 and 25-13, and received cash prize of INR 30,000, while the runner up team awarded INR 20,000.

The men’s volleyball final between Tenyiphe 1 and Medziphema A, is scheduled to take place on October 27.

In men’s football, the teams advancing to the semi-finals include Sovima Village Youth Organisation, Medziphema Village Youth Organisation, Rüzaphema Village Youth Organisation and Medziphema Town Youth Organisation.

The winners of the men’s football tournament will receive cash prize of INR 80,000, while the runner-up will be awarded INR 50,000. There are also individual prizes for the best goalkeeper, best defender, top scorer and player of the tournament.

The CYO Sports Meet 2023, which commenced on October 21, will conclude on October 28.
