Tribal Old Age Home organises festival of praise concert for elderly
DIMAPUR — Tribal Old Age Home-cum-Day Care Centre (TOAHDCC), in collaboration with Breeze Women Welfare Society, organised the second senior citizen festival of praise concert on the occasion of International Day of Older Persons on October 15.
Held at the Livingstone Foundation International auditorium in Dimapur, Kilentola Jamir presided over the event, and Rev. Dr. Weyiete Lohe delivered the invocation, according to a press release.
In his keynote address, TOAHDCC director Imlitongzuk Amri emphasised the goals and vision of the organisation for organising the senior citizen concert.
Several senior citizens and groups (musicians and singers) from Kohima, Chümoukedima, and Dimapur performed on the occasion, including Shilu Amri, Ivukhu Chisho, Silas Care Centre Senior Citizens Fellowship, Dr. Nicky Kire, Akok Tally, TOAHDCC senior citizens, T Lanusosang, Gugs Chishi, Tsüza Imchen, and Rev. Dirang.
The two oldest participants in the event, 86-year-old Anil Roy and 90-year-old Purumaya, received special honours and gifts, and the programme concluded with a prayer by Sungit Longkumer, assistant pastor, Grace to Glory Church.
