Believers told to walk together in faith
KOHIMA — Expounding that walking in faith requires discipline, Dr. Adela Mero, administrator of Rainbow Academy, Dimapur, told the Christians to know and experience God and walk together in faith.
She stated this during the silver jubilee celebration of the Thenyizumi Christian Fellowship Kohima (TCFK) on Sunday at Indira Gandhi Stadium (IGS) in Kohima.
Citing instances of various personalities from the Bible, Dr. Mero called upon the gathering to lead a life of faith by surrendering their lives and plans saying, “God uses even an ordinary person mightily.”
She also told the gathering not to belittle God in their pursuit for success in life but put trust and faith in Jesus Christ first.
Observing that many believers are preoccupied with social and other engagements and spend lesser time for their spiritual life, she advised to give time in prayer and also stressed on the need for parenting in godly way.
She also encouraged the members to be rooted in the Bible in order to have a strong foundation to lead a contented living and be righteous. Stating that the outcome of not walking in faith with the Lord would lead to failures and miseries, Dr. Mero urged the members to turn back to God.
Besuhu Dawhuo, chairman of Thenyizumi Union Kohima (TUK) who was also the first chairman of TCFK, shared greetings. He also recalled how the fellowship came into being as Thenyizumi Union Home Evangelical Fellowship Kohima 25 years ago.
He informed that there are over 204 households and have over 900 citizens of Thenyizumi residing in the state capital, Kohima.
Zhothisa Dawhuo, commissioner and secretary of Women Resources Development, released the souvenir to commemorate the event, while Dr. Adela Mero unveiled the 25th silver jubilee monolith.
Vezhoto Nakro, convenor of organising committee, delivered the welcome address and acknowledged the pioneers and elders of the fellowship.
A scripture was also read by Vahine Thisa, director of Treasuries and Accounts, while a song was presented by the TCFK jubilee choir, which was followed with a male voice and ‘Uta Ulimiko’ led by Thenolü Solo.
The programme was led by Vekhoto Thisa, TCFK vice chairman, while the offertory prayer was said by Khusane Veswü, women pastor of CRC Kohima, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mhaseto Nakro.
