PWC felicitates Bambi for her contribution to society
DIMAPUR — Bambi Kevichusa, fashion designer renowned for her bridal couture label ‘Bambi K Bridal,’ was felicitated by Pranabananda Women’s College (PWC), Dimapur, on Saturday in recognition of her contribution to the society, not just in fashion designing but also as entrepreneur and social worker.
The PWC has a tradition to choose one Naga woman every year, who has made exceptional contribution to the society, for the award on its fresher’s day. Kevichusa was felicitated during the 32nd fresher’s social of PWC at the college premises.
Acknowledging the honour by the college, Kevichusa said, “I did not know that my work is known in such big scale.”
Taking the opportune time, she heartened the students to imbibe three principles namely to always know their worth that they are created unique but at the same time not to be arrogant and carry pride knowing they are unique; to have a positive mindset and not let the setback, challenges hold them back but learn from them; and to never give up no matter how difficult the challenges are.
The deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal, who attended the event as the chief guest, stressed on the need to become economically independent and have futuristic view in a resource crunch state like Nagaland. He reminded the student community that government job was shrinking. Although Nagaland is still at the nascent stage of development, he stated that there are tremendous opportunities in the private sector with high rate of success stories as well.
The DC acknowledged the state for doing far better than the other states in the country in empowering women and the status that women enjoy in the state. He called upon the women to let their inner voice guide them and not ignore it.
He stated that college grooms every individual to fend for themselves and the society and to fit in the society as better human being. In line with this, he advised the students to take every day as a new day and do whatever they feel like in their best capacity with self-disciple.
