ABAM holds skill development programme for church leaders
DIMAPUR — A skill development programme on the theme ‘the art of life in fullness’ was organised by Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) for the church leaders of zone 4 at its resource centre, Kangtsüng (Aopenzü), Mokokchung, from September 28 to 30.
According to a press release, the goal of the programme was to equip and empower church leaders with the necessary tools and techniques to experience the fullness of life and achieve overall excellence.
The programme was designed in alignment with the United Nations’ 17 sustainable development goals.
The programme was inaugurated on September 28 by Rev. Temshi Longkumer, president of ABAM, Rev. Dr. L Lima Jamir, vice president of ABAM, and Maong Jamir, finance and property secretary of ABAM, followed by a dedicatory prayer by Rev. T Aliba Imchen, ABAM resource board convenor.
Dr. Sentitula, DFO Mokokchung, shared in her keynote address the importance of such a programme for church leaders in order to comprehensively and effectively respond to generational problems.
She said that the world is changing faster than before, and if the physical world is changing in such a way, one can easily imagine how many cataclysmic changes are being brought upon the human consciousness, and it is this change, so powerful yet so subtle, that is the source of all concerns.
The resource persons during the three-day programme were Dr. Sentitula, C Bendangonen Jamir, mission director of Chuchuyimlang Baptist Church; Dr. Merenlemla Imchen of Rapha Physiotherapy, Mokokchung; Dr. Imtiwati, assistant professor of the College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Jalukie; Meyasashi, director of Horticulture; Ruokuosietuo Dzuvichu, district soil conservation officer, Mokokchung; Senti Ao, Padampukri, Dimapur; T. Imlisunep, principal of ITI, Mokokchung; Martha Chakruno, ACTO (plant protection), KVK, Yisemyong; and Maong Jamir of ABAM.
The topics covered during the programme included livestock economy for sustainability, food security and job creation, sustainable agriculture, spring rejuvenation and water conservation methodologies, an overview of rural development, skill development, living the gospel, homiletics, the art of life, and Christian entrepreneurship.
