DC Niuland cautions private vehicles without valid permit

DIMAPUR — The Deputy Commissioner of Niuland has informed that certain individuals within Niuland district are engaging in the unauthorised practice of using their private vehicles for commercial purposes.

The DC in an order cautioned that such activities, including the transportation of passengers and goods without possessing a valid permit from the competent authority, are in direct violation of sub-section (1) of section 6 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

“In light of this, all vehicle owners operating within Niuland district have been notified and directed to cease and desist from engaging in these illegal practices immediately. It is imperative that all concerned parties adhere to this directive,” the order stated.

“Any individual found to be in violation of these regulations will face penalties in accordance with the relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and other pertinent provisions of the law,” it added.
