New secretary to the Bishop of Kohima Diocese Takes Charge
KOHIMA — Rev. Fr. ALex Gwatilo Tep assume the role of secretary to the Bishop of Kohima Diocese, succeeding Rev. Fr. George Vekupa Rhakho in the state capital on Friday.
Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, the bishop of Kohima diocese, and the outgoing secretary, Fr. George, welcomed Rev. Fr. Alex Tep at the Kohima Cathedral.
His arrival coincided with the diocese’s active preparations for the forthcoming golden jubilee celebration. The Kohima diocese is set to commemorate its golden jubilee from October 27 to the 29th at the Cathedral in the state capital this year.
Fr. Alex Tep received his ordination on December 31, 2019, and subsequently served in various roles. He served as assistant parish priest at both St. Xavier’s Church in Meluri in 2020 and St. Francis de Sales Parish Kohima town in 2021, 2022 and for a few months into this year.
After briefly posted at Good Shepherd Seminary in Dimapur for a couple of months this year, Fr. Alex Tep returned to Kohima upon his appointment as the Bishop’s secretary.
