ESB launches women collegepreneur programme

DIMAPUR — To empower young women with the necessary skills and knowledge, Educentre School of Business (ESB) launched its first women collegeprenuer programme on August 31.

An update from ESB stated that the core idea was to give opportunity to female students to come up with business ideas and execute them. It added that business has to be innovative and scalable and in line with the startup India eco-system.

It stated that the teams received seed money of INR 10,000 to give support to their business.

Speaking at the launch event, A Temjem Jamir, director of Industries and Commerce, shared his appreciation towards the college students for taking up the opportunity saying that entrepreneurship is the main impetus to deliver for future generations. He expressed contentment to witness women stepping out of their comfort zone.

He also shared inputs and knowledge on how the government has approved to provide 25% of funds reserved for women to uplift women collegepreneurs.

Keneirienuo Kire, deputy director of Industries and Commerce and team leader of start-up Nagaland, also extended her support for women entrepreneurs and encouraged them to work hard to be recognised and to nurture the young generation.

She also expressed that women have always played a major role in society.

Viseino Basumatari, co-founder of Saucy Joe’s, shared her entrepreneurial journey and struggle. She narrated how she kept herself motivated to achieve higher goals.

It mentioned that EduCentre School of Business is an incubator under the department of Industries and Commerce. It added that Startup Nagaland has helped over 50+ startups and worked with 200+ entrepreneurs in the last three years.
