Security forces recover 5 arms, 31 ammunitions
IMPHAL — Security forces recovered five arms, 31 ammunition, 19 explosives, 3 packs of IED material and 10-meter Cordtex from Kangpokpi and Imphal-West districts during a search operations in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Kangpokpi, Thoubal, Churachandpur and Imphal-West districts, police said today, August 30.
During the last 24 hours, the situation in the state was tense with sporadic incidents of firing and congregation of protestors, read a press note from Manipur police control room.
A total of 130 checkpoints were installed in different districts of Manipur, both in the hill and the valley and police detained 1646 persons in connection with violations in different districts of the state, it added.
Regarding the movement of supplies, it said that the movement of 325 vehicles along NH-37 with essential items have been ensured.
It also appealed to general public not to believe in rumours and be aware of false videos. Any circulations of unfounded videos, etc. may be confirmed from the rumour free number of Central Control room, it stated.
