Nagaland Governor, Chief Minister, Deputy CM extend Onam greetings
DIMAPUR — Nagaland Governor La. Ganesan, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy CM TR Zeliang have extended greetings on the occasion of Onam festival which falls during the Malayalam month of Chingam (August-September) and marks the return of legendary king Mahabali.
“This festival is the harvest festival and brings out the remarkable and amazing display of culture and beauty of Kerala and also it signifies love, brotherhood and communal harmony.
“The Onam is celebrated across the country for a period of ten days, with festivities and sumptuous feasts. This festival makes soul and body dance with exciting beats of music for unity and re-connection with its roots,” read the greetings from the governor.
“On this auspicious occasion, I wish you all happiness and to enjoy the day-long festivities with gaiety,” it added.
Rio also took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to extend Onam greetings on the auspicious occasion.
“Happy Onam to all who are celebrating this jubilant festival. May the occasion bring immense happiness and good fortune to you and your loved ones,” he wrote.
Conveying Onam wishes to the Keralites, Zeliang said the harvest festival is celebrated with enthusiasm by the Malayalis.
