DIMAPUR — ADC Tening, T Lemlila Sangtam, has issued an order instructing both butchers and citizens to immediately cease the butchering, purchasing, and selling of pork meat in the vicinity of Tening town.
According to a DIPR report, the ADC brought attention to the presence of swine flu in Tening town; however, citizens continue to slaughter, buy, and sell pork meat within and around Tening, posing a significant health risk to consumers.
The order, which is effective from August 28 until further notice, also stated that failure to comply with it will result in an on-the-spot penalty of INR 10,000 as well as the potential cancellation of trade licences.
