ATMA Medziphema conducts training for SHGs
DIMAPUR — The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Medziphema block held a capacity-building programme for various SHGs in Sochünoma and Maova villages on winter vegetable packaging and practises on August 21.
According to a press release, it was conducted with the aim of providing future sustainability to SHGs.
A nursery bed preparation demonstration on hot pepper hybrid seeds var. prahaar was also successfully carried out at Maova village, and various varieties of seeds and sprayers were distributed to farmers. Masatula, ATM Medziphema block, and Nenkhonem Hangsing, ATM Medziphema block, were the resource persons for the sessions.
A field day on soil management for pineapple production was also held at Molvom village.
In another training programme, ATMA Medziphema block conducted a training programme cum distribution of poultry (vanaraja) and poultry management on August 22 at Zhuikhu village.
On the same day, a demonstration programme for the vaccination of vanaraja chicks to various SHGs was also held. Gaurav Dubey, a PhD scholar in the department of Livestock Production Management at NU SASRD, served as the programme’s resource person.
Farmers were given vanaraja chicks as well as poultry equipment such as feeders and water feeders.
The block also held a capacity building programme on pineapple value addition and jam preparation for SHGs in Hekheshe village, with ATM Hitokali, Medziphema block, ATMA as the resource person.
On the occasion, knapsack sprayers, packaging materials, and value-added equipment were also distributed.
