Independence Day celebration cum a three-day photo exhibition got underway at Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS), Dimapur
DIMAPUR — As part of the Independence Day celebration, a three-day photo exhibition on the theme “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Har Ghar Tiranga, Mera Maati Mera Desh and nine years of Seva Sushasan and Garib Kalyan” got underway at Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS), Dimapur, on August 15.
The photo exhibition, organised by the central bureau of communication field office, Kohima, has put up on display famous personalities and events of the freedom movement as well as recreating and bringing forth stories and photographs of forgotten heroes of India’s freedom struggle and nine years of Seva Sushasan and Garib Kalyan, stated a DIPR report.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, the school’s principal, Manoj Bhatarcharjee, recalled the contributions of the stalwarts of India’s freedom struggle and their heroic deeds. While reminding the gathering that there were many unsung heroes from every parts of the country who have sacrificed for the nation, Bhatarcharjee said that there also many from the northeast, who have immensely contributed towards the freedom.
On the occasion, patriotic songs, choreography, speeches and recitations were performed by the students and teachers to mark the celebration.
As part of the celebration, various competitions including quiz, extempore speech and painting were conducted wherein the winners were felicitated during the programme.
