Awareness programme on lumpy skin disease held in Peren
CoVSAH Jalukie and KVK Peren, Nagaland, organised lumpy skin disease awareness & animal health camp at Gaili village on August 11.
DIMAPUR — The College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (CoVSAH) Jalukie, in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Peren, Nagaland, held an awareness programme on lumpy skin disease (LSD) cum animal health camp at Gaili village on August 11.
According to a press release, the programme was initiated under the guidance of Dr. I Shakuntala Devi, dean of Veterinary College, Jalukie, in response to the number of suspected LSD cases reported from villages in and around Jalukie subdivision in Peren district.
Dr. Keneisezo Kuotsu, assistant professor at CoVSAH, Jalukie, chaired the program. Dr. L. Babita Devi, the CTO of KVK in Peren, and Dr. Sashitola Ozukum, assistant professor at CoVSAH, Jalukie, delivered the lectures on lumpy skin disease using various audiovisual aids.
Dr. Tukheswar Chutia, assistant professor at CoVSAH, Jalukie, coordinated the animal health camp along with college interns for the occasion.
A total of 286 animals were treated during this health camp, and mineral mixture supplements, dewormers, and essential medicines were also distributed.
