Hard shoulder construction along Kohima-Jessami road in Nagaland underway, says NHIDCL
DIMAPUR — The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has updated that the construction of hard shoulder along the 2-lane Kohima-Jessami road on the National Highway-29 (NH-29) in Nagaland is currently underway.
The project covers the stretch of road from the existing Km 7.880 near Chedama Junction to Km 30.474 near Near Chakahabama (design Km 7.88 to Km 29.60) (design length – 21.72 km) on engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) Mode (Package -I), it was informed.
Constructed under the National Highway (Original)- (Tribal Sub Plan) scheme, the sanctioned cost of the project is INR 320.97 crore, and the cost awarded till June 30 2023 is INR 193.79 crore.
The project was awarded on March 17, 2020 and the appointed date was July 1 2020. As per the NHIDCL project progress update, the original date of completion was June 30 2022, but it is likely to be completed only by August 31 2023.
While pointing at land acquisition issue for the delay in completion of the project, the implementing agency said it has made 90.57% physical progress and 83.55% cumulative financial progress.
