Police recovers arms and narcotic drugs

DIMAPUR — Nagaland Police, during operations, detected various cases related to arms, narcotics, and criminal activities in several districts.

Under the Arms Act, police have registered three cases in Dimapur resulting in the arrest of four individuals for possessing firearms in violation of the law. According to a DIPR report, the recovered items included firearms and live rounds.

In a parallel effort, 25 cases were registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in districts including Mokokchung, Wokha, Zunheboto, Kiphire, Tuensang, and Mon. It stated that the authorities confiscated brown sugar, heroin, prescription medications and cough syrup. It added that 35 individuals were apprehended in connection with NDPS cases.

The report also highlighted cases related to extortion, involving the unlawful acquisition of money, leading to arrests and the recovery of pertinent evidence.
