DIMAPUR — Kohima College commemorated its 56th Foundation Day on Wednesday with K Puroh, former faculty member of the college, as the special guest.
Puroh, in his speech, evoked nostalgic memories of how Kohima College was envisioned and that the idea of Kohima College emerged during a time when ‘the land was clear, the soil was clear, and the vision was clear’.
He reminded the students that their education at the college should prepare them to be agents of positive change and ‘builders of nation’, and that every youth must first commit to the Naga Nation and then to the tribe. He concluded by condemning the divisive elements of Naga society and exhorting all Nagas to equality and unity.
The college noted in a press release that after 29 years of teaching, Puroh became a member of the NPSC and eventually retired as its chairman.
