Chief Secretary reviews meeting for ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign
Nagaland Chief Secretary, J Alam, has presided over a review meeting pertaining to ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign.
DIMAPUR — Nagaland Chief Secretary, J Alam, has presided over a review meeting pertaining to ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign held at the chief secretary’s conference hall in Kohima on Tuesday. The campaign is being organised as part of the culmination of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to honour the sacrifices of brave individuals, who gave their lives for the nation.
Speaking at the meeting, Alam emphasised on the necessity for active participation from all the citizens across the state in the campaign. He has also directed the district administrations to seek cooperation and assistance from the public in order to ensure proper documentation of events.
The ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh‘ campaign would include various activities such as erecting memorials in villages and towns to pay tribute to the fallen heroes, hoisting national flags, taking pledges while holding a fistful of soil, and planting 75 saplings of indigenous trees.
A DIPR report stated that youth volunteers would collect soil from various locations to be transported to Kartavya Path, New Delhi, where the final event would be held.
Village-level programmes are scheduled from August 9 to 15, block-level and larger urban local bodies (ULB) between August 16 and 20, state-level programmes on August 25, and the finale in New Delhi on August 29 or 30, 2023.
Alam also held a review meeting in virtual mode with the deputy commissioners (DC), superintendents of police (SP) and district officials across the state.
