Dimapur — Advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, has sought innovative ideas and concepts to curb the menace of plastic pollution in order to sustain local economy.
Zhaleo stated this during the inauguration of a newly established plastic recycling industry under the name of M/s CY Enterprise at Bamunpukhuri-B village on Saturday. Speaking as the guest of honour, Zhaleo has lauded the young entrepreneur for shouldering huge responsibility to do something productive for the people and also help to balance the ecosystem.
“In today’s world, everybody aims to reduce, reuse and recycle, and this new enterprise is one perfect example to help mother earth”, he stated, while adding that every citizen should lend helping hands to eradicate the menace of pollution, an update from Thejangukho Yalietsu, media secretary of NDPP 5 Ghaspani-II AC, has quoted Zhaleo as stated.
He has advised the people to collectively support and encourage the entrepreneur by supplying waste materials to the industry which in turn, would recycle it for a good cause.
Zhaleo affirmed that the government would always support positive ventures and added that the concerned department would work with the firm in co-ordination with DMC and other stakeholders. He further urged the people to come forward with innovative ideas and concepts in order to sustain local economy.
The advisor of Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan, who was also present during the programme, disclosed that he had witnessed the entrepreneur “struggling from pillar to post” in order to shape his dream into reality. The advisor has congratulated the entrepreneur for the successful launch of his new venture.
“There will always be criticisms when we do something good for a common cause but be determined to prove yourself right in the end,” Yanthan advised the entrepreneur
The proprietor of CY Enterprise, Yanrenthung Ovung, informed that he would produce durable plastic floor tiles from recycled plastics.
“It was in me to reach out to our people with local products and help nature too that led to setting up of this industry here,” stated Ovung and added that the firm is in consultation with DMC so that they could set up a waste segregation machinery at DMC dumping site in the near future.
The inaugural function was chaired by T Penthungo Lotha, while Rev. AK Jami, senior associate pastor of LBC, Purana Bazaar, pronounced the dedicatory prayer.
