Dimapur Police personnel arrested four persons for allegedly selling counterfeit wrist watches from four shops located at Shangrila Market at Nyamo Lotha Road, Dimapur
Dimapur — Following a written complaint by Titan Company Limited at East Police Station, Dimapur Police personnel arrested four persons from four shops located at Shangrila Market at Nyamo Lotha Road and Hongkong Market on August 1 allegedly for selling counterfeit Sonata, Titan and Fastrack wrist watches.
A police report issued by the deputy commissioner of police (crime) and PRO of Dimapur Police informed that a total of 170 wrist watches, 128 watch chains and 213 dials were seized during the search.
It mentioned that Sonata, Titan and Fastrack are the brands of Titan Company Limited.
In another raid, proprietors of two shops were also arrested from Hazi Park market for selling counterfeit cosmetic products of Lakme. It stated that a total of 1048 counterfeit cosmetic products of Lakme were seized from the two shops.
A written complaint in this regard was lodged at East Police Station, Dimapur, by M/S Hindustan Unilever Limited against the proprietor of the two shops.
Report stated that two cases have been registered at East Police Station, Dimapur, under various sections of Copy Rights Act of 1957, Trademark Act of 1999 and other sections of Indian Penal Code.
