KOHIMA —  Minister of Women Resource Development and Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse, has emphasised on the need to build a strong foundation at the grassroots to strengthen the party and its leaders.

Kruse, who is the legislator in-charge of the NDPP Kohima region comprising six Assembly Constituencies, stated this during an interactive meeting with the party workers on Tuesday. Addressing the party leaders, she stated that politics is not only during or for election but to work for the welfare of the people, an update from the party stated.

‘We have to continuously strive to strengthen the party and our leaders,’ Kruse stated while citing the divisive forces that are always at play. She also reminded the party leaders from the six assembly constituencies to work for the people by creating awareness of the schemes and policies of the government that are available to the people.

In line with the party’s motto ‘Facta Non Verba’ (deeds not words), Kruse called upon the party members to work for themselves and the people rather than wait to be spoon-fed. She has also emphasised unity among the party members and endeavours towards delivering justice to the public in all their endeavours.

While seeking the support and cooperation of the party workers, she has further assured all possible support and cooperation towards strengthening the party in the state in order to fulfil the aspirations of the party for the people.

The acting president of the party, Prasielie Pienyü, has assured to work towards strengthening the party and its leaders. Stating that the present government led by the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, is stable and strong, he has sought support and cooperation from all the party members.

NDPP Kohima region general secretary, Kechangulie Kense, has highlighted the activities of the party such as a ‘voluntary task team’ while responding to crises and disasters as well as organising inter-AC sports meet. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by its working president, Keduolhoulie Houzha.
