Basapi Teronpi Memorial Basketball Tournament underway in Diphu

DIMAPUR — The Basapi Teronpi Memorial Basketball Tournament, organised by the Diphu Mavericks Basketball Club, got underway at the Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA) stadium, Diphu, on Tuesday.

The 5-day tournament, being held from August 1-5, is seeing participation from nine boys teams and several girls teams.

The boys teams have been divided into two groups – Group A consists of Diphu Mavericks, Nihang, MID, and D’ravagers Youngsters, while Group B has Elite, HBC, D’ravagers, Maligaon NFR, and AKU Jorhat.

MLA Dorsing Ronghang inaugurated the tournament on Tuesday in the presence of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) executive member Mudhuram Lekthe, KAAC member Dr. Mongve Rongpi, KASA general secretary Dr. Pankaj Teron, and district sports officer Rilip Ronghang.

In his address, Ronghang wished all participating teams the very best in the tournament.
