DIMAPUR— Deputy Commissioner of Noklak, Arikumba, has directed all village councils and ward authorities under the district to refrain from engaging in any activities related to the issuance of Inner Line Permit (ILP) or any other related matters.
The DC, in a circular, stated that there are reports of some village councils and ward authorities issuing or enforcing ILP without the mandate or knowledge of the state government, and termed such acts as illegal.
Iterating that the enforcement and regulation of the ILP solely falls under the purview of the district administration, as enshrined in the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873, the DC urged strict compliance with the directive.
