Manipur Horror: Supreme Court or Supreme Power?
A day or two late! Calming my stormy mind yet not getting there. While it is felt that the horrific crime meted out to two kuki girls in Manipur, stripped naked, groped and paraded is not acceptable to humanity, we yet again learn that thousands of such cases are taking place in Manipur and hence the inability to keep abreast of all incidents! Does it mean that one needs graphic documentary proof to first go viral and then act upon?
It is disgusting that some power mouths are still speaking out on TV, in justification that such incidents are happening in other states too, while some very institutional bodies cannot put in a word unless sanctioned by the Power House.
To think that we continue with pride, fooling ourselves as belonging to the largest democratic country,
what a farce!
This is not the time for the Power to justify but to act!
My heart is pained beyond words seeing the two kuki girls in the video and we, the people, in desperation are turning to the Supreme Court today instead of the powers that be which have remained silent way too long.
