DIMAPUR – The Salesian College of Higher Education, Dimapur, celebrated its first graduation day on Wednesday at Bernick’s Hall, Dimapur. The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Akali Sema, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University, School of Agricultural Studies, Medziphema Campus, as the chief guest.
During her address, Sema shared her personal journey, highlighting the struggles she faced during her childhood and how she overcame them to reach where she is today. She encouraged the students to prioritise their faith in God and emphasised the importance of making a difference in society through their own actions, which can serve as inspiration for others.
Delivering the commencement address, principal Fr. Dr. Paul Punii congratulated the graduating students as they reached another significant milestone in life. He encouraged them to continue pursuing their dreams and be the change they want to see in society, and stressed that the world requires their unique skills and contributions.
In their speeches, the two gold medalists, Sr. Flory Lalmangaihi from the English department and Martin Henry from the Philosophy department, expressed gratitude for the support they received from the administration, faculties, and fellow students. They also encouraged their juniors to work hard, give their best, and maintain discipline.
In the closing remarks, Vitsino Haikam, the head of the English department, congratulated the graduating students and reminded them that the education they received would serve as a solid foundation for their chosen paths.
