The Nagaland Chamber Choir shines at World Choir Games
DIMAPUR – The World Choir Games, which took place in Gangneung, South Korea from July 3 to 13, witnessed the Nagaland Chamber Choir (TNCC) achieving great success.
With more than 300 choirs from 40 countries participating in this event, TNCC stood out by securing two gold medals in the mega choir competition.
Under the skilled guidance of conductor Hito Kiho, the 30-member choir showcased their talent in two categories and emerged victorious by securing gold medals in both.
Earlier announcements had revealed that the choir would perform four songs in each category on July 10 and 11.
TNCC’s outstanding performance led them directly to the Grand Pix Finale, bypassing preliminary rounds and securing a spot in the World Choir Games.
This remarkable achievement follows their previous wins in the Asia Pacific Choir Games held in 2017, where they received two golden diplomas and two silver medals in both categories.
It is noteworthy that TNCC is the sole Indian choir to have qualified for this prestigious championship.
Abu Metha, the advisor to the chief minister, expressed his joy and extended his congratulations to the choir via Twitter.
He also acknowledged their immense dedication and hard work, emphasizing that their success was well-deserved.
