DIMAPUR — Advisor, Industries & Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu, on Monday said that Chümoukedima being a new district, it was an opportunity for her and officers of various departments to lay the foundation to bring about positive change in the district.

Addressing the monthly DPDB meeting of the district at deputy commissioner office conference hall on Monday, Jakhalu said that most of the officers come with great expectations and enthusiasm to bring change but due to “bad legacy,” they find it difficult to change the prevalent system, a DIPR report stated.

Expressing her enthusiasm to work together, she also assured the officers to assist and reach out to them in whatever ways she can for the development of the district.

During the meeting, the house reviewed the grant-in-aid for Highland Secondary School, Naga United village, which was deferred again to the next meeting due to incomplete verification. The house also approved the society registration of Chümoukedima District Butchers’ Union and Chümoukedima Gorkha Union.
