DC Wokha inspects ongoing construction of NH-2 road stretch
DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan along with the National Highway officials, SDO (C) and contractors inspected the ongoing construction of road along NH-2 (72.4 km to 83 km) on July 3.
The inspection was carried out to ensure that quality of works is maintained and no encroachment or hindrance encountered during the process of implementing the ongoing construction of road, an official update stated.
The district administration and police supported by the NH officials have been conducting eviction drive over the last one month at several locations to ensure effective execution of road construction and removal of encroachments over the NH compensated land.
The DC asked the contractors and the National Highway officials to report any incident of reclamation along the Right of Way (ROW) or encroachment at compensated land or area to district administration so that timely and necessary action can be initiated.
Ranjan also instructed the contractors and the National Highway officials not to compromise with the specification of works along the road stretch, and to carryout rectification works on priority basis. He further directed the NH officials to submit weekly report to district administration in regard to the progress of works to ensure proper implementation of all the works.
Superintendent of Police, Wokha, Aotula T Imchen also accompanied the DC during the inspection, it stated.
