DIMAPUR — Psychology and Counseling department of Mount Mary College and Mount Mary Higher Secondary School, in collaboration with Life Square Church, Chümoukedima, provided free food and medical assistance to the underprivileged at Dimapur railway station on June 21.

An update from the institute stated that free food drive and medical assistance programme was aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by the marginalised population, particularly those residing in and around the railway station area. The team also provided counseling to the homeless about their needs and their life.

The event commenced in the afternoon with a team of volunteers from Mount Mary College and the church by setting up a well-equipped medical camp near the entrance of the railway station. It stated that local doctors, nurses, and medical staff conducted health check-ups, provided basic medical treatments and distributed necessary medicines to the patients.

Simultaneously, a dedicated group of volunteers from both the organisations arranged a spacious dining area at the venue, where they served nutritious meals to the attendees.

It stated that a large number of individuals including migrant workers, homeless people and families from low-income background flocked to the railway station to avail the service.

It further stated that the selfless dedication of Mount Mary College and Life Skill Square Church exemplified the spirit of community service and inspired others to extend their support to similar initiatives in the future.
