DIMAPUR — Commerce department and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Dimapur Government College (DGC) organised a one-day state-level workshop at its conference hall on June 16 on the theme “National Higher Education Qualification Framework under NEP-2020 and Four Year Undergraduate Programme under Nagaland University.”
An update from the college stated that a total of 55 participants from 13 commerce colleges from all the districts of Nagaland attended the workshop.
Speaking at the workshop, resource person and professor of Commerce at Nagaland University, Dr. Gautam Patikar, stated that NEP-2020 aims to create a modern education system with a blend of ancient learning and values. He has highlighted on the reasons for necessary changes in education system as well as on the prime aims of NEP-2020.
Dr. Gautam further stated that NEP-2020 with its motto of the 3E namely educate, encourage and enlighten and 4 basic principles of equity, access, quality and accountability was aimed at providing a robust, holistic, dynamic, flexible and universal learning outcome to the students.
It was stated that teachers under the NEP-2020 would act as mentors to the students and impart skills on logical thinking, self-motivation, information gathering and research and organisational planning.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Jimokali Zhakheto Zhimomi, secretary of IQAC.
