MoS reviews centrally sponsored schemes in Wokha district of Nagaland

WOKHA: Minister of State (MoS) for Social Justice and Empowerment, A Narayanaswamy visited Wokha on Friday to review the execution of centrally-sponsored schemes (CSS) in the district.

During his visit to Longsa village, the MoS had a short interaction with women leaders, self help groups (SHGs), Anganwadi worders, ASHA, public leaders and village council members.

He asked the gathering if they were availing various benefits like free rice, health insurance benefits, water, electricity and various related schemes, through the CSS, to which the villagers replied they were receiving the benefits.

Meanwhile, the Longsa Village Council along with the GBs submitted a memorandum to the minister of state, requesting to widen and blacktop the 3-km village road and construction an RCC bridge.

Narayanaswamy later had a review meeting with all the head of offices under Wokha district at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, where various departments — Health and Family Welfare, RD, PHED, Water Resources, Social Welfare, and PHE Road and Bridges – highlighted various CSS projects being taken up by the respective departments.

He urged all the departments to strictly follow the guidelines and effectively implement the central schemes.

He also launched a WhatsApp-based application called ‘Saathi’ (Smart Artificial Intelligence-based Assistance for Timely Help and Interface), that claims to have the potential to provide automated assistance 24/7.

Wokha DC Ajit Kumar Ranjan said the AI-based Chatbot operating on WhatsApp No. 7005577231 was initiated with an aim enhance citizen-government interaction and service delivery.

He added that it aims to establish a seamless connection between the people of the district and various services offered by the administration and government departments. It will act as a single point hub and an information centre, facilitate service delivery, address grievances and serve as a platform for effective communication and engagement.
