Capital College inaugurates new campus in Jotsoma
KOHIMA — The new campus of Capital College of Higher Education (CCHE) was on Saturday inaugurated by Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, general secretary of Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) at Thegaba, Phezhu, Jotsoma.
Addressing the inaugural programme, Keyho said the present generations are in an exciting era where many things are happening.
“Our world is no longer the same, and perhaps we can say so even in the field of education. Challenging situations we face, moments of desperation we encounter. And yet life goes on. We need to make out things that will impact our society and world,” he said.
Asserting that education needs proper planning, vision and careful drafting of smart and dedicated minds, he was of the opinion that education should be drafted with care in order to give a meaningful future to the world.
Keyho encouraged the management to keep going and advised them to pick up new ideas and insights and broaden their vision.
He also encouraged the gathering to focus on the little success of the little things they have made to encourage oneself and one another. To the students, he encouraged them that they were born with a divine purpose, which they must realise.
“You are created with a purpose and for a purpose. You did not just drop from the sky and one day you find yourself walking into the crowd. You are created and designed for a purpose and that purpose and design and that with the creator,” Dr. Keyho added.
Vezuhu Keyho, chairman of the college governing body, gave a brief highlight about the college. He informed that Capital College of Higher Education was established in 2004 and got provisional affiliation from NU. Subsequently, the college got permanent affiliation status to the college on March 23, 2011. In the same year, it was recognised by UGC under section 2 and 12 of the UGC Act of 1956.
The welcome address was delivered by the college principal, Dr. Zokho Venuh, while an invocation prayer was said by Rev. Vezopa Rhakho, president of Kohima Baptist Pastors Fellowship (KBPF), and a song was presented by the college choir.
