DIMAPUR — Dimapur Government College (DGC) held a farewell programme for retiring associate professor and former head of department, Political Science, Khrienuo Angami, on April 29.
Principal, DGC, Prof. Sanjay Sharma in his speech highlighted Khrienuo’s sincerity and dedication to the development of the Political Science department and the college as a whole, an update stated.
He also appreciated her contribution to two crucial committees of the college – Students’ Welfare Committee and the Students’ Advisory Committee – and also extended his gratitude to her for developing the Green Garden Area in the college.
The college vice principal, vice president of Dimapur Government College Teachers Association (DGCTA), members of the faculty and Dimapur Government College Students’ Council, in their respective speeches described Khrienuo as “a vibrant, honest, humourous, intelligent and hard working person who had the special ability to lighten up a person’s day.”
They recounted her immense contribution to the development of the college and the welfare of the students and thanked her for the legacy that she would be leaving behind.
The retiring officer in her speech expressed her gratitude to college and its family and shared that she has developed an invisible bond with the Institution and everyone in it. She reminisced about her time in the college and said that she will cherish all the wonderful memories spent in the institution.
Khrienuo had served the college for 28 long years in various capacities.
The programme, chaired by Purtila, associate professor, department of Political Science, commenced with an invocation prayer by Dr. Vinyuhu Lhoungu, department of Economics.
The benediction was pronounced by Dr. Hannah Tia, asst. professor, department of Sociology.
As a final act of dedication to the college, the retiring officer planted a tree in the Green Garden Area.
